Dr. Doug Fankell’s work experience at Structural Integrity includes advanced non-linear finite element experience of solids and fluids under extreme loading conditions, including turbine blade missile impact analysis and biomedical device – biological tissue interactions. Dr. Fankell has expertise in a range of finite element programs, including, but not limited to, ABAQUS, LS-Dyna, and Comsol. Additionally, he has experience developing custom multiphasic, large deformation, finite element code to simulate biological tissue and surgical procedures. He also has experience in three-dimensional computer-aided design (CAD) programs and is capable of modeling and discretizing advanced 3-D geometries.
